    Monitoring Terms

    Last updated: October 2, 2026

    1. Agreement and services

1.1 Parties. These Monitoring Terms (the "Terms") are an agreement between 9933263 Canada Inc, operating as Altium 360 ("Altium 360", "we", "us"), and the person or business who orders service (the "Customer", "you"). By ticking the acceptance box at checkout, paying for service, or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1.2 Services. Depending on the plan you choose, we provide:

    • Self-monitoring: Alarm.com app access, push, text and email alerts, and video features. No central station is involved and no one is dispatched on your behalf.
    • Professional monitoring: alarm signals from your system are sent to a third-party, ULC-listed central station (the "Monitoring Centre") that acts on them as described in section 1.4.
    • Add-ons you select, such as guard response, video storage or doorbell service.

Your plan, price and add-ons are shown on your order confirmation or invoice.

1.3 Activation. Professional monitoring starts only after (a) your first payment clears, (b) we have your emergency contact list and verbal passcode, and (c) we confirm to you in writing that your account is active at the Monitoring Centre. Until you receive that confirmation, your system is not professionally monitored. Activation is normally completed within 48 hours.

1.4 Alarm response procedure. When the Monitoring Centre receives an alarm signal from your system, it will make reasonable efforts to:

    1. For burglary alarms: call the people on your emergency contact list, in the order you gave, and ask for the verbal passcode. If an alarm is confirmed as false with the correct passcode, no dispatch is made. If no one answers, or the alarm is confirmed as real, the Monitoring Centre requests police or guard dispatch.
    2. For fire, smoke, carbon monoxide and panic alarms: request emergency dispatch first, then call your contacts.
    3. Where your plan includes text or email alerts, send them to your contacts, who may reply to cancel a burglary dispatch.

The Monitoring Centre may change the order of these steps, or skip steps, when it reasonably believes this is safer or when required by police, fire services or local by-laws. We do not guarantee any response time from the Monitoring Centre, police, fire services or guards. Some police services will not respond to unverified alarms or to properties with repeated false alarms.

    2. Limits of our responsibility

2.1 We are not an insurer. Our fees are based on the value of the service, not the value of your property or the people in it. A security system and monitoring can reduce risk but cannot prevent every burglary, fire, injury or loss. You are responsible for carrying enough property, contents and liability insurance.

2.2 Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, if Altium 360 or anyone acting for us is found liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from the service, the equipment, or our performance or non-performance of these Terms, for any reason and however caused, our total liability is limited to the greater of (a) three (3) months of the monitoring fees you paid us, or (b) $250. This is your sole and exclusive remedy. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data.

2.3 Third parties. Parts of the service are provided by others we do not control, including the Monitoring Centre, Alarm.com, cellular and internet carriers, power utilities, equipment manufacturers, police, fire and ambulance services, and guard companies. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for their acts, failures, delays or outages, including loss of signal, network or cloud service interruptions, or failure of any authority to respond.

2.4 Waiver of subrogation. You agree that you, and your insurers, will not make any claim against Altium 360 or the Monitoring Centre for any loss covered by insurance. You will tell your insurer about this waiver if your policy requires it.

2.5 Indemnity. You will cover Altium 360's reasonable costs, including legal fees, if a third party makes a claim against us that results from your breach of these Terms or from false or outdated information you gave us.

2.6 What these limits do not cover. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or rights you have under consumer protection laws in your province that cannot be waived.

    3. Your responsibilities

3.1 Contacts and passcode. You must give us at least three (3) emergency contacts and a verbal passcode, and keep them current. Contacts should be people who can reach the property or who should be told in an emergency. We and the Monitoring Centre rely on the information you give us and are not responsible for problems caused by outdated or wrong information.

3.2 Testing. You will test your system at least once a month by placing it on test through us, triggering a sensor, and confirming the signal was received. You will tell us promptly about any trouble, malfunction, low-battery or communication-loss alert.

3.3 Power and connectivity. Your system depends on AC power, backup batteries and a working cellular and/or internet connection. You are responsible for keeping power on, replacing batteries, and keeping Wi-Fi or internet service active where your system uses it.

3.4 False alarms. You are responsible for any fines, fees or charges imposed by police, fire services, municipalities or guard companies for false alarms or dispatches to your property, and for any Monitoring Centre charges caused by excessive alarms (currently more than 6 alarm events in a month). We may pass these charges on to you at cost plus a reasonable administration fee.

3.5 Permits and by-laws. You are responsible for obtaining any alarm permit or registration your municipality requires, and for following local alarm by-laws.

3.6 Equipment. Equipment you own stays yours. We do not warrant equipment installed by others, previously installed equipment, or equipment you took over from another provider. Manufacturer warranties apply to new equipment we sell. Do not tamper with, reprogram or move monitored equipment without telling us first.

3.7 Changes to your property. Tell us before you move, renovate, rent out the property, or change who lives there, as this may affect your contact list, dispatch address or permits.

    4. Fees, term and general terms

4.1 Fees and billing. You authorize us to charge your card or account on file each month, in advance, for your plan and add-ons plus applicable taxes. If a payment fails and is not fixed within 10 days, we may suspend service. While service is suspended, your system is not professionally monitored. We may charge a reconnection fee of $25 to restore suspended service.

4.2 Price changes. We may change our prices with at least 30 days' written notice. If you do not accept the change, you may cancel before it takes effect.

4.3 Term and cancellation. Service is month to month. Either party may cancel with 30 days' written notice to support@altium360.ca. Fees already paid for the current month are not refunded. We may end service immediately for non-payment, abuse of our staff or the Monitoring Centre, repeated false alarms, or unlawful use.

4.4 Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms with at least 30 days' notice by email. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept it; if you do not, you may cancel.

4.5 Privacy. We collect only the personal information needed to provide the service, including your contacts' names and phone numbers, and share it only with the Monitoring Centre, Alarm.com and emergency responders as needed. We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law. You confirm your emergency contacts have agreed to be listed.

4.6 Call recordings. Calls with us and with the Monitoring Centre may be recorded for quality, training and verification. Recordings are kept by the party that made them and are not guaranteed to be available.

4.7 Assignment. We may assign these Terms or transfer your account to another monitoring provider or a successor business, with notice to you. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.

4.8 Entire agreement and severability. These Terms, together with your order confirmation or invoice, are the entire agreement between us. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

4.9 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, except where the consumer protection laws of your own province require otherwise.

4.10 Service area. These Terms are offered to customers outside Quebec. Altium 360 does not currently provide service in Quebec.
