Alarm monitoring certificate for your insurer
Many Canadian home insurers offer a lower premium for homes with a professionally monitored alarm, and they ask for a monitoring certificate as proof. We issue that certificate, free, to customers on a monitored plan.

What the certificate is
It's a one-page document that confirms your home is professionally monitored by us: the address, your plan, the alarm signals we monitor and the date monitoring started. Many Canadian home insurers offer a discount for monitored alarm systems and ask for a certificate like this as proof — ask your insurer whether you qualify.
Who qualifies
- An active professionally monitored plan (Essential, Complete or Ultimate)
- Your monitoring setup submitted and approved
- Your account connected to the central station
Professional monitoring isn't available in Quebec or British Columbia yet, so certificates aren't either.
How to get it
- Sign in to your account and open the Insurance certificate card.
- Click Request. Add your insurer's name and policy number if you'd like them on the certificate.
- We review it and email you when it's ready to download from your account.
Questions
- Will my insurer give me a discount?
- Many insurers do, but it's their decision and amounts vary. Ask your insurer before you rely on a discount.
- How much does the certificate cost?
- Nothing. It's included with every professionally monitored plan.
- How long is it valid?
- As long as your monitoring account stays active. If monitoring is cancelled or disconnected, the certificate stops verifying.
- Can my insurer check it's real?
- Yes. Each certificate has a number your insurer can check at altium360.ca/verify.
- Can I get one on a self-monitored plan?
- No. The certificate is only for plans where a central station watches your alarm.
