Install: Door / window sensor
Two-piece magnetic sensor. The larger transmitter mounts on the frame, the small magnet on the moving panel.
Tools needed
- • Isopropyl wipe
- • Included adhesive strips (or 2 small screws)
Setup time
5 minutes per opening
Step-by-step
- 1On the panel, open Settings → Devices → Add Sensor and follow the pairing prompt.
- 2Pull the battery tab so the sensor powers on and reports to the panel.
- 3Name the sensor by location (e.g., Front Door, Kitchen Window).
- 4Wipe both surfaces with isopropyl, then peel and stick the transmitter on the frame.
- 5Stick the magnet on the moving panel, aligned within 1/2 inch of the transmitter.
- 6Open and close the door/window to confirm the panel reports Open → Closed.
Common mistakes
- • Placing the magnet more than 1/2 inch from the sensor body.
- • Mounting on metal without the included spacer — reduces range.
- • Forgetting to name the sensor by location.
Troubleshooting
- • Not pairing: hold the tamper button for 3 seconds while in pairing mode.
- • Shows Open when closed: reseat the magnet closer to the sensor body.
- • Falls off: replace the adhesive strip and clean the surface again.
