    DIY install guide

Install your system, end to end.

A plain-language walkthrough so anyone in the household can get the system up safely. Always follow the manuals shipped with each device.

Safety note: follow every product manual and your local electrical rules. Use a qualified installer for any wiring, ladder work, or complex mounting.

    Before you start

    • Confirm your Wi-Fi network name and password.
    • Pick a hub location near your router and a power outlet.
    • Charge battery-powered devices like cameras and the doorbell.
    • Open the box and check off every item against the packing list.

Step 1 — Install the app and create your account

    • Download the Altium 360 app from the App Store or Google Play.
    • Create your account using the email you want for system notifications.
    • Enable push notifications when prompted.

Step 2 — Place the hub / base station

    • Set the hub near your router, ideally on a shelf or table.
    • Plug in power. Wait for the status light to turn solid.
    • Follow the in-app pairing flow to connect the hub to Wi-Fi.

Step 3 — Pair sensors and label each device

    • In the app, tap Add device and scan the QR code on each sensor.
    • Give every device a clear label (e.g. "Front door", "Kitchen window").
    • Test each sensor before mounting so you know it's communicating.

Step 4 — Mount door and window sensors

    • Clean the surface with the included alcohol wipe.
    • Use the adhesive strip for clean installs, or screws on wood frames.
    • Keep the two halves within a few millimetres when closed.

Step 5 — Place motion sensors

    • Mount in a corner 2–2.3 m off the floor.
    • Aim away from heating vents, fireplaces, and direct sunlight.
    • Avoid pointing at moving curtains or pet pathways if not in pet mode.

Step 6 — Install cameras and the video doorbell

    • Follow the manufacturer instructions included with each device.
    • Mount cameras 2.5–3 m up, angled slightly down.
    • For wired doorbells, turn power off at the breaker first.

Step 7 — Set users, contacts, notifications, and schedules

    • Invite household members and pick their permission levels.
    • Add your emergency contacts and an out-of-home phone number.
    • Set arm/disarm schedules for weekdays and weekends.

Step 8 — Run a full system test

    • Use Test Mode in the app to trigger each sensor in turn.
    • Confirm cameras record and the doorbell rings.
    • Walk through every armed mode (Home, Away, Night).

    Step 9 — Activate monitoring

    • Stay on self-monitoring to handle alerts yourself, or
    • Upgrade to professional monitoring from the Monitoring screen.
    • Confirm your emergency contact list and verify your service area.

    Troubleshooting

    Weak Wi-Fi

Move the hub closer to the router or add a mesh node. Keep the hub off the floor.

    Sensor offline

Re-pair from the device screen. Replace the battery if it has been more than a year.

    False alerts

Re-aim motion sensors. Enable pet mode. Adjust sensitivity from the device settings.

    Camera not recording

Check Wi-Fi signal strength on the device page. Confirm the schedule is enabled.

    Low battery

Replace batteries one device at a time. The app will confirm when the device reconnects.
